Melbourne Baroque Orchestra: The newly-formed Melbourne Baroque Orchestra is currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals with experience either in the early music field, or in the administration of a structure such as an incorporated association. The MBO is currently a not-for-profit incorporated association with charity status, and is organising its first concert series in 2017 outside of its regular collaborations with the Australian Chamber Choir. We would be delighted to welcome as member anybody who shares in our vision of having a resident baroque orchestra in Melbourne, and who would be willing to help either with promotion, marketing, accounting, grant-writing, educational outreach programs, and even artistic development.  Shane Lestideau 0428 435 333

In their latest release on ABC Classics, leading baroque orchestra the Academy of Ancient Music presents the music of Venetian man of mystery Dario Castello.
Working at the same time as Claudio Monteverdi, Dario Castello wrote innovative and ground-breaking sonatas that had a profound effect on generations of Italian composers. Very little is known about him today, but in the 17th century he was actually more widely published than Shakespeare.
